Announcing Coffee Club — SocialFi App to Trade Keys for Private Telegram Clubs and Broadcast Channels on Base
Hi friends,
I am announcing the public launch of Coffee Club, a SocialFi application that lets fans trade key tokens that provide access to private Telegram group chats and broadcast channels.
Website: https://coffeeclubapp.com/
X: https://x.com/coffeeclub_app
I created Coffee Club so creators can easily launch token-gated broadcast channels and private group chats, allowing them to further own and monetize their influence using tokens and web3 software.
Coffee Club uses a web application (found at coffeeclubapp.com) to discover, buy and sell keys to clubs, and it links with a Telegram bot that manages invite links and entry into the private groups and broadcast channels.
It’s been commonly acknowledged that the web3 will be a read, write, own web. Coffee Club lets creators own their first and second degree social graphs through access keys to our private chats. Coffee Club also lets us own access to our insights and special posts we’d like to share to our biggest fans with key-gated broadcast channels.
It was clear that a great user-experience for a token-gated SocialFi application would have to live on Telegram because a bulk of crypto users’ time is spent inside Telegram already. Therefore, Telegram would be the place to participate in token-gated clubs and exclusive broadcast channels.
The keys are tokens that are traded on a bonding curve. 6% of the buying proceeds goes to creators, and 4% of all selling proceeds goes to creators. Thereby allowing creators to monetize their insights, alpha, and communities they build.
Karma DAO was launched two years ago. Its purpose was to create a pitching ground for entrepreneurs to investors, with the goal of startups receiving help, advice or investment. Karma showcased many unicorn projects to its members early on, including Frax, Gelato, zkSync, AnkR (thank you to everyone that I made these introductions, I appreciate it) and notoriously Sam Bankman-Fried and his Serum project. Shiba Inu, the biggest memecoin today, also had its early beginnings in Karma DAO! Karma will be onboarded into Coffee Club and I will be rebooting the community with its original purpose and agenda. Anyone can search for “Karma” inside the CoffeeClubApp.com PWA (progressive web app), and buy a key to join. Also, Web3 Journal will be a key-gated broadcast channel inside Coffee Club. Just search for “Web3 Journal” inside CoffeeClubApp.com and buy a key to find access.
The benefits of making a token-gated Telegram chat community include having a more filtered and close-knit group of people. Karma DAO started with the first 100 people I knew, and from there it grew to my second and third degree friend networks. In a similar fashion, the goal is to have clubs on Coffee Club be collaborative and full of like-minded people. Also, for people that are new to crypto, it’s very hard to find their tribe of friends, and one of the goals of this product is to help them find access to great alpha communities.
Also, a key-gated broadcast channel would allow investors and community leaders to share thoughtful insights and research posts to a more tight-knit circle of superfans.
The product is packed with features. To list a few, creators can share up to 10 free invites that they can share to friends that allows them to join their club without buying a key. In addition, creators’ clubs can be invite-only, or set to open-for-all. There is also a referral program, where anyone can earn 1% of all key buy volume from the users they refer.
Coffee Club uses Base network. Layer 2’s allow the token swap time inside SocialFi applications to be fast, allowing for a near real-time trading experience without having to wait for 10+ minutes like on Ethereum mainnet. My thesis is that the speed of L2s will be a catalyst for SocialFi innovation and adoption, because we can have users execute trades and other DeFi transactions quickly without having to drop off the application and wait around. There is also a bridge inside the app so users can deposit mainnet Ethereum if they prefer to.
I hope you have time to try joining the Web3 Journal broadcast channel or Karma DAO, or create your own channel or community inside Coffee Club.
In order to join the Web3 Journal channel, please follow the steps below:
- Sign up coffeeclubapp.com using X
- Depositing any minimum amount of ETH on Base or mainnet is required to sign up
- Click the search icon bellow and search for “Web3 Journal”
- Buy the key, and request to join the group, and you’ll be given a link to join via the Coffee Club Telegram bot
SocialFi will bring a token-layer on top of social applications for us to own our content and social graphs on the social web. The unique friend networks we have are incredibly valuable, and the goal of Coffee Club is to provide an easy user experience for creators to launch a creator token that represents the value of their friend network.
Coffee Club will have a token re-distribution to all CNFT holders (previously DAOfi). There was a snapshot taken at 2:41 PT August 24, 2022, and if you held more than 400 CNFT tokens you can claim your $COFFEE tokens here: https://claim.coffeeclubapp.com/
